Shanghai is permeated with the aroma of coffee.
Just near my workplace, there's a street with three coffee shops standing side by side. That shows how Shanghai people love coffee.Today let's go to downtown and grab a coffee!
"Right now I have arrived at Shanghai ELONG HOTEL which is on the Jiujiang Road. And the tree beside me is a coffee tree. We can see the raw coffee beans on the tree. And that brings every visitor's step into the coffee plantation instantly."
At the coffee bar, a Dai ethnic girl from Yunnan dressed in traditional attire and prepared traditional coffee using ancient methods for the guests in attendance. A Russian guest was particularly fond of it and called it "a novel dessert".
Dmitry, the Russian guest, described his experience:"The flavor is very rich. It’s full of different kinds of textures. The egg gives it a nice and thick volume, and the coffee kind of wraps around it. For me, it was the first time—I'd never tried coffee with egg before. It's very special. Seeing the coffee tree here gives a deeper connection. You can actually see how it grows. It's really interesting to witness."
Su Nan found a coffee robot. "This machine uses coffee beans from Yunnan Honor. How does it make a single cup of coffee? . Just scan the code and choose your drink — I picked an iced mocha. Once the order was placed, the machine got to work. After just one minute, the coffee was ready. Time to enjoy! Let's taste this one. This flavor combines Shanghai and Yunnan Baoshan."
At Shanghai ELONG HOTEL, coffee culture is deeply integrated throughout the guest experience. Cascara tea greets guests at the entrance, while coffee-themed gifts adorn the lobby display area. All served coffee is meticulously curated, and coffee-themed rooms feature capsule coffee, pour-over coffee bags, and coffee berries. From the lobby to the guest rooms, the rich aroma of coffee fills every corner.
Kevin Li, ELONG HOTEL Technology COO, said:
"On one hand, our hotel has increased revenue. On the other hand, we've turned our support for agriculture and farmers into real action. We've also brought these coffee beans into our supply chain. Over 1,000 of our mid-to-high-end hotel brands now serve pour-over coffee bags made primarily from Yunnan beans."
Hu Li – Deputy Head of Longyang District, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province:"As an international metropolis, Shanghai represents China's outward-facing image. This location, with its high proportion of foreign guests, is ideal for showcasing Yunnan Small-Grain Coffee. Our goal is to help this unique product go global. That's why we chose this spot — to combine efforts from the source all the way to the market. We're working together to bring Baoshan's Small-Grain Coffee to the world."
上海四处飘着咖啡香气,在记者工作地方旁有一条街就有三家咖啡店紧挨着,可以看得出上海人有多爱咖啡了。不过,今天我们去上海市中心“切杯咖啡”。
